This affects all of the sound effects by reducing the volume of all the others and does several other things. This caused the save file to use that as the default character state for you so now every time you start that game save, your character is drowning. In essence, you were drowning, the game saved that state, and didn't return the proper information back to the game after it was done. You can fix this if you don't want achievements for that save because it may require using the console. That didn't work either.Ĭertain things in this game are baked into the save file, so if the character state was bugged, it is part of the save file. Anyway, I've tried everything, like I mentioned. Again, it doesn't REALLY break the game, right, just kind of breaks the immersion a little. Sorry for the long post, but I just don't know what else to do. It seems like the sounds are getting mixed or something. But other sounds seem to be fine, like dialog and the PDA/computer voice, regular (non-alien-containment) base hatches, etc. I hear it and I'm like, "Wait, this shouldn't be playing here, right?" So, I'm convinced it must be the game's audio files glitching or something (hope it's not corrupted or anything) but am still not 100% sure. I think I noticed also music playing that's not the one for the biome I'm in. Like, they're outside sound effects like bird caws and stuff like that. Anyway, I think the game also thinks I'm still outside when I enter my base 'cause the sound effects doesn't seem to change. Now, I admit, I forgot whether the Seaglide works in alien containments 'cause I've never really needed to use one inside, but, logically, it should, right? We're in water, so it should still make me go faster. Also, when I pull out the Seaglide, it doesn't activate. For example, when I enter alien containments, even though I'm still swimming, it looks/sounds like the game still thinks I'm outside based on the sounds. But, while I continued, I began to realize that I think it's because of the game thinking I'm still outside even though I've entered a base.maybe. Some people are saying that that messes with the game files or something, but I'm not sure.Įventually, I just continued playing since it doesn't break the game, right, just makes it a bit weird. My most recent mod up to that point was the new mod manager for BepInEx, which adds a new "Mod Manager" option to the main menu. I found a few threads that it might be because of mods, so I uninstalled them too, but that also didn't work. ![]() I eventually deleted and re-installed the game, but that didn't work. So, I figured this must be just Subnautica being buggy as usual. ![]() ![]() Checked my AMD drivers, Nvidia drivers, and even Windows Update, but they're all fine and up to date. YouTube), so it can't be my drivers.right? I DID look into it, though, and updated my drivers, and even tried changing them according to this one thread. Solutions ranged from uninstalling the game to me having a corrupted audio driver. So, naturally, I did some research, but no one really had an exact answer. So, I started paying more attention and realized that, when Riley runs inside a base, it doesn't have that metallic tapping (or whatever you call it) that it usually does. It still plays the water-dripping and Riley's gasping-for-air effect though. A few days ago I continued a creative save file and noticed that the hatch sound doesn't play when I enter/exit my large alien containment (the one for the large room).
